Local bakery and cafe concept La Panadería is expanding its San Antonio-area footprint, planning to debut two new outposts in the city, according to a news release shared with MySA.

The first will land in Stone Oak at 1011 N. Loop 1604 E., near eateries such as Gorditas Doña Tota, Jason’s Deli, and Krispy Kreme. The second will be called La Panadería Express and arrive at La Cantera Shopping Center, joining establishments such as Auntie Anne’s, Kokee Tea, and Kona Grill.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Co-Owner José Cáceres to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with La Panadería, the business is owned by brothers José and David Cáceres whose “passion for baking began when they were young boys selling loaves of their mother Doña Josefina’s fresh baked bread on the streets of Mexico City,” shares a brief introduction on the bakery’s website.

Eventually, they “opened bakery-cafe La Panadería in 2014 to share their Mexican heritage and love for baking with the people of their adopted hometown of San Antonio, Texas,” the statement continues.

The business currently operates three locations across San Antonio.

Both locations are slated to open in late 2024. Follow La Panadería on Facebook and Instagram for further updates.
