Andy’s Frozen Custard, “a chain of United States frozen custard stores with over 85 locations in 14 states,” is planning to open a new outpost in San Antonio, according to a recently submitted permit application.

Coming to 9703 Potranco Road, the eatery will land near KFC, Marco’s Pizza, and Scooter’s Coffee.

What Now San Antonio reached out to franchisee Joe Shields to inquire about the upcoming eatery, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight — disclosing that renovations to the existing 1,537-square-foot space are slated to begin in April and finish in late November, costing an estimated $1,400,000 in total.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Andy’s Frozen Custard is known for its frozen custard of either vanilla or chocolate flavors that can be topped with a variety of ingredients — think Oreo, cookie dough, strawberry, espresso, cherries, almonds, and others. Andy’s also serves sundaes, malts, floats, pies, brownies, and seasonal specialties.
