This three-day celebration of Native Americans will start on March 21 in the Denver Coliseum. Residents will get to witness the brilliance of artists through dance, music, food, art, and storytelling.

This event emerges as more than being just an annual celebration. It is a time that allows the Native Americans to gather as one group and uphold their ancestral heritage. Every year, irrespective of their backgrounds, the people of Denver are invited to join in.

This Denver-based event in which dancing takes the center stage, is a reminder of how closely the Native American heritage is related to the city. The Denver March Powwow event for this year will have over 1,500 dancers. All these dancers hail from about 100 tribes of 38 states along with three provinces of Canada.

In a colorful and festive reunion that happens in Spring, participants of the Denver event dress up in colorful outfits. The same is expected for the 2025 event, where every dancer will wear costumes full of colors and independently dance to drum beats.

As the date for the Denver March Powwow nears, the excitement of Denver residents is increasing. Intending to surpass expectations, the Powwow organizers have arranged an impressive list of activities.

Grand Entry

The Denver March Powwow will start with a song by the HeartBeat drum group. Named ‘A Living Hoop,’ once the song ends, different flags will be shown in the dance arena accompanied by a flag song. After this, there will be a ‘Victory Dance,’ a song which will honor the veterans.

Intertribal Dance

In this inclusive dance, Powwow dancers of different ages come together without wearing a dance outfit. The Denver residents can enjoy American Indian dancing, where men and women dance to the tunes of drums.

Contest Dancing

Based on age and regional differences, contest dancing will be carried out in different groups. The ones for men will include traditional dancing, grass dancing, chicken dancing, and fancy dancing. For women, there will be traditional dancing, jingle dress dancing, Woodlands Applique, and fancy shawl dancing.

Storytelling

Besides dancing, the Denver March Powwow will feature interesting legends about indigenous Americans every hour by storytellers.

Selling Booths

To make things engaging for Denver residents, the Powwow organizers have allowed setting up of over 100 booths selling products and artworks of Native Americans. Visitors can find jewelry, pottery, beadwork, and blankets of some of the skilled artisans in the same.

Additionally, the people of Denver can relish Native American food items like Indian tacos and fry bread.

Venue, Timings, Registration, and Ticket Details

Set to happen from March 21 to 23 this year, the Denver March Powwow is ready to wow Denver residents. The three-day event will be held at Denver Coliseum (4600 N Humboldt St, Denver, CO 80216, United States).

According to the event’s official website, the registration process for this drug and alcohol-free event of Denver will end on March 17.

There will be no charges for children aged six or less. Adults will have to pay either $7 per day or $20 for a 3-day pass. Denver residents who are aged 60 or more will need to pay either $3 per day or $9 for a 3-day pass.

With an exciting lineup of activities, the Denver March Powwow promises to be a great opportunity for Denver residents to learn and celebrate the heritage of Native Americans.
