V Wine Room, a Hollywood-based wine room that once housed Charlie Chaplin’s studio, has officially changed ownership at 903 Westbourne Drive.

Adam Garvey, a longtime West Hollywood resident, has officially purchased the beloved wine bar from its previous owners, Blaine Vess and Esther Paik Vess, according to WeHo Times. The change in ownership became one of many for the business, which opened its doors in February 2013. The duo listed the business for sale in September, and Garvey recently obtained the keys. In September 2022, the Vesses had the opportunity to take over V Wine Room, where they had their first date in 2016. Now, Garvey, a car and wine enthusiast, has taken over the cherished community wine bar in the heart of West Hollywood.

“I want to elevate the space into the modern world while keeping its warm and inviting vibes,” Garvey tells WeHoTimes. “Soon, I plan to open at 10:00 AM during the week and offer coffee and small bites for people who work from home and want a different environment to work in. Of course, I’m always happy to pour wine in a coffee cup for those Zoom calls. Additionally, I will be adding beer options to the menu for those who want something different than wine or sake.”

The wine bar has a history spanning over 12 years, but the location itself is steeped in local heritage. Tucked away on charming Westbourne Drive, just off Santa Monica Boulevard, this space has been used in many different ways, including as a studio for Charlie Chaplin and later, from 1929 to 1941, as a library for the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County known as Sherman, according to V Wine Room’s website. Although the ownership has changed a few times over the years, the one thing that remains the same is the unique “V”-shaped bar. On top of that, customers can expect to see the same employees, as Garvey says the wine bar has a “really solid team that the clients love.”
