Sushi Taku is expected to open this spring at 1300 South Blvd in South End.

Co-owner Tom Hui Li confirmed the new location in a brief interview with What Now Charlotte. He and his business partner Shiwei Zheng are also behind the local Pho Good Time Asian Fusion, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. The Business Journal reported that the new sushi spot could be open by the end of April.

Sushi Taku serves an all-you-can-eat sushi menu and has two locations currently operating in Chicago. This will be the first location for the brand outside of the Chicago market.

Menu items include nigiri, sashimi and signature rolls like the caterpillar roll (eel and cucumber inside topped with avocado and eel sauce) and the mango tango roll (a shrimp tempura, cucumber and cream cheese roll topped with lobster salad, mango, and eel and mango sauce). There will also be regular rolls like the California roll and the spicy tuna roll. The website states that the fish is prepared daily to ensure high-quality sushi.
