Rock & Brews, the rocking-and-rolling bar at 26000 State Road 56 in Lutz, is closing this month, according to recent coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

The “family restaurant serving Floridians who rock” has been in operation since 2020, serving a menu of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, tacos, and other bar favorites.

“We provide a superior dining experience with a Rock ‘n’ Roll twist,” says the restaurant’s website. “Our founders have a natural appreciation for Rock ‘n’ Roll music, an affinity for craft beer, and a desire for classic comfort food with a unique spin. Fusing these three elements into one concept is a dream come true and something we are excited to share with our communities. We strive to provide an unforgettable experience.”

If you hurry, there’s still time to have that experience again, as the restaurant will remain open until March 23.

Replacing it, says the CL Tampa Bay coverage, is Chicago hot dog chain Portillo’s. With more than 70 locations nationwide, Portillo’s already has stores in Tampa, Brandon, and St. Petersburg.

“We’re known for our famous Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, chopped salad, cheese fries, homemade chocolate cake, and chocolate cake shake,” says the Portillo’s website. “Our Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on freshly baked French bread. Then, it’s dipped in hot gravy made with our homemade blend of seasonings that we’ve been perfecting for 50 years.”
