Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, a one-of-a-kind coffee shop with a mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is set to open its doors in Upper Arlington at 3110 Tremont Rd., Kingsdale Center. The new Columbus-area location, owned by franchisee Tim Cook, will be part of a growing movement that is changing the way people see and value others in the workplace.
On social media, the company expressed its excitement about expanding to Ohio, sharing, “We can’t wait to open our doors in Columbus, Ohio! Our mission of changing the way people see other people will reach a new community & continue inspiring a world of belonging.”
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee—it’s a human rights movement. Founded by Amy and Ben Wright, the brand was inspired by their own children, Lillie, Emma Grace, Beau, and Bitty. After discovering that over 80% of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are unemployed nationwide, the Wrights decided to create a space where people with disabilities could work, thrive, and be valued. The result was Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, a warm and welcoming café where diversity isn’t just appreciated—it’s celebrated.
Since opening, the brand has expanded across the country and now proudly employs more than 400 individuals with disabilities. Every location provides meaningful jobs to people who are often overlooked in traditional workplaces, while also offering customers an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
With a mission rooted in inclusion, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee will bring its inspiring message—and delicious coffee—to the Upper Arlington community soon. A grand opening date has yet to be announced, but locals can follow the shop’s updates to be among the first to experience a café where everyone belongs.
