East Nashville’s newcomer, Curry Boys BBQ, opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 for daily lunch and dinner service. The fast-casual eatery marries flavors of Thai curry with authentic Texas barbecue for a truly unique culinary experience enjoyed through a menu of rice bowls, sides, shareables, and more. Guests can expect a counter service experience and offerings like Southeast Asian-inspired dishes topped with oak-smoked proteins by way of Texan tradition, as well as a full bar with beer, wine, and cocktails.
Founders Sean Wen, Andrew Ho, and Andrew Samia – two-time James Beard Foundation Awards semifinalists for Best Chef: Texas – have built a cult following with two Curry Boys BBQ locations in San Antonio, TX, now teaming up with Adam Lathan of Double Wide Hospitality to bring their first out-of-state venture to Nashville.
Curry Boys BBQ will be open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner via dine-in, carry-out, and third-party delivery.
Split into three sections, the menu begins with a variety of Shareables such as Pulled Pork Nachos (tortilla chips smothered in curry queso and pulled pork, topped with honey sriracha and cilantro) and a Thai Green Salad (cabbage, romaine, herbs, and a citrusy Thai dressing). Curry BBQ Bowls are at the center of the menu, starting with the fan favorite Brisket Smoke Show (oak-smoked prime brisket with green curry), The Tony Porker (post oak-smoked pulled pork with Penang curry), Good Luck Cluck (peppery smoked chicken thigh with yellow curry), and Curry Queso Hot Dog (smoked pork link in a Martin’s bun, smothered in curry queso and topped with onions, cilantro, and shallots.) Sides like Cold Chili Garlic Noodles, Curry Creamed Corn, and a Green Curry Potato Salad round out the menu.
A full bar of beer, wine, and cocktails will be available through lunch and dinner service, offering a beverage experience complimentary to the food menu’s simple, yet high quality approach. House cocktails will include a Ginger Lemongrass Margarita (tequila, triple sec, lime, lemongrass, and ginger), Thai Chili Lemonade (vodka, lemon, Thai chili, and basil), and Yuzu Whiskey Cooler (bourbon, yuzu, lemon, green tea, and seltzer). Beer will be served on tap or by the can, featuring a selection of brews from Thailand, Texas, and Tennessee, while a rotating selection of wine and nonalcoholic drinks will be available as well.
Set in a historic East Nashville home, hues of pink, red, and gold are a nod to the colorways of Thailand, while an expansive patio will be open year-round for guests to enjoy. Led by Ryan Hunter of Studio RH, Curry Boys’ interior design is an intersection of Americana and Thai influences. Hand-painted details adorn the space including signage and customized Spaghetti Western movie posters, foliage and greenery are tucked into every possible corner, and a collection of thrifted finds add a touch of whimsy. The restaurant’s indoor seating area offers retro, red leather dining chairs for guests while the expansive back patio has a breezy, organic feel with paper lanterns and a minimalist vibe.
Curry Boys BBQ is located at 1304 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN.
