A new dining destination is set to open this spring at 1022 Summit St., bringing an elevated take on Latin cuisine to Columbus. Mezcla is the vision of a chef deeply connected to the city’s culinary scene, blending inspiration from past experiences with a desire to create something fresh and exciting.
“For me, Mezcla is the restaurant I’ve always wanted to do,” the chef Garrett Talmage explains. “It’s not just about the food—it’s about creating a meaningful dining experience for the community.”
With a strong foundation in Mexican cuisine, Mezcla’s menu branches out into broader Latin flavors. The initial offerings are small, carefully curated, and designed to evolve frequently, ensuring each dish receives the attention it deserves. Rather than a large-scale kitchen churning out plates, Mezcla focuses on quality and precision in every bite.
The restaurant itself exudes an intimate, dark, and moody elegance, with a soundtrack that reflects the team’s personal tastes. Mezcla isn’t just another taco spot—it’s a modern Latin dining establishment that aims to become a standout in the Columbus food scene.
Reservations opened just two days ago, and tables are already booking up well in advance. While bar seating for 20 is available for walk-ins, the dining room operates on a reservation-only basis with a 30-day booking window.
As excitement builds, Mezcla is shaping up to be more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience Columbus food lovers won’t want to miss.
