An Atlanta-based outdoor apparel and gear retailer is expanding to Johns Creek.

High Country Outfitters is planning to open a store at Medley, an upcoming 43-acre mixed-use development.

High Country Outfitters sells clothing, shoes and outdoor equipment from brands like Patagonia, Free Fly, On Running, Vuori and YETI. The locally owned and operated store was founded in 1975.

The Johns Creek outpost would be the ninth location for the company, which most recently opened a store at the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center in Buckhead.

The retailer is one of several tenants recently announced for Medley. Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill, Sephora, BODYROK and Petfolk are also expected to open at the development, joining a wide lineup of previously announced restaurant and retail tenants, including CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Summit Coffee, Lily Sushi Bar, Knuckies Hoagies, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar, Five Daughters Bakery and many more.

The project is almost 75 percent leased, according to the most recent announcement. Medley is expected to break ground in January 2025, with a grand opening planned for late 2026. A 350,000-square-foot office building at the site has already been razed to prepare the site for construction.

In total, Medley is slated to include 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space; a 175-key boutique hotel; 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space; 750 multifamily residences; 133 townhomes; and a 25,000-square-foot plaza.

Toro Development Company, the team behind the development, recently announced it secured financing for the project.

“With Medley, we are not building buildings, we are building a community,” TDC’s Chief Vision Officer Mark Toro said in a statement. “To do it right, we know every detail matters, and we are hand selecting retail experiences that create a highly energized destination for Johns Creek.”
