A fast-food chain known for burgers, fries and more is working on a new location in Forsyth County.
Five Guys is planned for 908 Buford Highway in Cumming, according to construction documents. The nearly 2,800-square-foot restaurant would include outdoor patio seating. The space located next to Buffalo Wild Wings GO was formerly occupied by MOD Pizza.
The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, fries, milkshakes and more, alongside the peanuts the stores are known for offering. According to the company, Five Guys customers enjoy more than 260,000 peanuts a week.
Five Guys began in Virginia in 1986, growing to five locations in the Washington, D.C., metro area by 2001. The company began to franchise a year later, reaching its 1,000th restaurant in North America in 2012 and 1,500th worldwide in 2018.
There are currently 61 Five Guys locations in Georgia. The Buford Highway location would be the first in Cumming.
What Now Atlanta has learned that the upcoming restaurant is expected to be a corporate-owned location. Construction on the space could start as soon as this summer.
