The fast-casual restaurant chain L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will be opening its latest location in Metro Atlanta this weekend. The grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting for the new restaurant in Smyrna will happen on Saturday, March 29, according to the official announcement. 

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue’s new location will be at 2762 Atlanta Rd. SE in Smyrna Market Village. This location will mark the brand’s fifth location in Georgia, the 14th location on the East Coast, and the 235th in its global franchise network.

Residents and visitors of Smyrna will soon find will soon have convenient access to authentic Hawaiian-style cuisine in their proximity. L&L will offer its signature menu to all those who come through their door. 

The highlight of the menu will be the famous “Plate Lunch,” which will comprise two scoops of rice, macaroni salad, and a variety of options for proteins. Guests will be able to choose from Hawaiian BBQ Mix (teriyaki-marinated meats), Chicken Katsu (Japanese-inspired, crispy breaded fried chicken), and more.

The exclusive offerings at the Smyrna location will include a keiki (children’s) meal featuring Chicken Katsu Nuggets, served with macaroni salad and a choice of rice or fries. The restaurant will also be taking up catering services, and orders will be taken in through mobile apps as well.

The new L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will open at 1 PM on March 29 with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The restaurant has announced that Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton will be making a special appearance. The restaurant had its soft opening on Monday, March 24.

Once the ceremony is over, guests can join the celebration, which will be complete with live music, entertainment, and exclusive promotions. The restaurant will be gifting free goodies like a free t-shirt and tote bag to the first 100 guests as well.

Located in the Smyrna Market Village, the restaurant is at the heart of a vibrant Smyrna community that is famous for hosting events and concerts. To create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, the 1,300-square-foot space has an island-inspired design. The timings for the new restaurant will be 11 AM to 8 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Meet the Owners of the New Restaurant and the Franchisee

The new L&L Hawaiian Barbecue franchise restaurant in Smyrna is owned by the husband-and-wife duo Michael and Ruth Kervin. Michael was introduced to the bold island flavors of L&L by his Hawaiian wife, Ruth, during their honeymoon in Hawaii in 2013. He was instantly captivated by the cuisine, as it brought back the memories of his mother’s cooking. The experience filled him with a passion for taking Hawaiian-style food to a broader audience.

Having over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, the L&L location at Smyrna is the fulfillment of Michael’s dream of becoming a restaurant owner. This being the first location, they plan to expand to more locations in the near future. 

Speaking about their restaurant that’s now opening in Smyrna, Michael Kervin said, “L&L’s franchise model appealed to me for its established support system, proven brand recognition, and ability to deliver high-quality food.” He went on to add, “Menu items such as the Chicken Katsu and Loco Moco resonate with me for their home-cooked touch, and I’m excited to bring an authentic, fast-casual dining experience that’s unique to this area.”
