The land development permitting process for a future Candlewood Suites next to the Techwood Community Gardens and across from the W Hotel Atlanta on Ivan Allen Blvd. has begun.
If all goes as planned, groundbreaking is projected for June 2020, shared David Barrett of BA Barrett Construction, on a phone call with What Now Atlanta.
Barrett will be developing the property in a joint venture with Centennial Olympic Park Lodging Associates LLC and in partnership with Dion Meltzer of Meltzer Properties.
Land development for the project is estimated to cost $682,000.
Candlewood Suites, a hotel chain within the InterContinental Hotels Group is best known for its extended stay amenities including full, in-suite kitchens, laundry service and free Wi-Fi.
The 35,239 square foot hotel will have 10 stories and 138 rooms, structured parking in the rare of the hotel, a rooftop restaraunt and retail space on the ground level. The ITP’s only Candlewood Suites will join the groundswell of hotels going up minutes away from notable landmarks in the Centennial Olympic Park corridor, including the World of Coca-Cola, National Center for Civil & Human Rights, Georgia Aquarium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as well as a critical mass of restaurants and offices.
