Suwanee’s Tequila Mama Taqueria will open a second location in Buford, according to the taqueria’s website, which notes its outpost, currently under construction, is headed to the Ariston later this year.

Lease intel obtained by What Now Atlanta indicates the brand is setting up shop in a roughly 5,300 square-foot space within the new ground-up development near the Mall of Georgia.

The taco joint is known for its Tequila-forward beverages and its menu drawing on influences from American, Mexican, Asian, and Latin American flavors.

Tacos, tapas, and bowls are at the top of the menu, along with Mama’s Especiales like the TMT Burrito, an open-end burrito stuffed with your choice of fire-charred meat, bell peppers and onions, and topped with cheese and chipotle cream, and the Tequila Lime Chicken, Mama’s signature fire-charred chicken brushed with a tequila-lime-mango glaze and topped with melted cheese, cilantro, and onions.

We’ve been tracking the growth of this local brand since Blake Rogers first opened the eatery in Suwanee in 2019. Rogers confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta Thursday, but did not share an opening date.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article erroneously listed Mall of Georgia as Tequila Mama Taqueria’s future home. The restaurant is opening as part of the Ariston development.
