Joy Huffman is opening offbeat, ax-hurling Throw in April 2022. The indoor throwing facility is located at 325 Elizabeth Street., NE, and is currently in the renovation phase.

The 4,000 square-foot Inman Park location is ideal as a training ground, where people can literally throw a variety of objects. Throw will replace City Issue which relocated to Candler Park.

“We throw everything from axes, knives, and stars to all kinds of cool objects, including playing cards,” Huffman told What Now Atlanta in an email Tuesday. “We have taken the traditional ax-throwing experience and added additional training elements for our guests to learn how to truly be a hero. It’s exciting, and a ton of fun for group outings, date night, and corporate team building.”

There will be 10 throwing targets, a lounge area, and a separate throwing area for darts. A shop will sell axes and memorabilia.

“We are an established hero training ground,” Huffman said. “Whether they’re an Aprenti (first comer) or Captain (advanced thrower), our facility is the prime location for honing your throwing ability. Additionally, our guests have the opportunity to join our fleet of noble heroes, when they’re hand-selected to participate in the Hero’s Journey — our immersive skills training program in which they learn from the best Captains from around the world!”

Whether it’s venting, releasing tension, or looking for a fun outing, Throw has the tools for you.
