Former major league baseball player Todd Greene, Rick Nielsen, Sports Academy’s Chad Faulkner, and restaurateur Richard Tang have partnered to bring Winners Circle Park to Forsyth County in 2023, Tang told What Now Atlanta over the weekend. Tang is behind Atlanta restaurants like Girl Diver and the forthcoming Press Start in Summerhill.

The 62-acre campus is heralded as the premier destination for baseball, basketball, volleyball, cheer, pickleball and esports tournaments, leagues, and full- circle training.

“Our project is expected to attract over 750,000 visitors yearly from all over the country,” Nielsen said in a prepared statement. “This will greatly benefit our country’s economy by having our guests eat, shop and stay in our local hotels. This will generate revenue for our local economy into the millions and create over 500 full time local jobs on our site.”

Winners Circle Park, described as The Southeast’s premier baseball and training destination, comes with an advisory board of sports figures: Baseball Hall of Fame member and former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine, NBA player Seth Curry, entertainer DJ Skee, entitlement attorneys Sean Courtney of Lipscomb Johnson Sleister, Dailey & Smith, LLP, and lead Architect Lamar Wakefield.

The site, located in south Forsyth County, will include nine state-of-the-art all turf baseball fields, a Sports Academy 125,000 square-foot indoor sports and training facility, and a 21 court indoor/outdoor pickleball entertainment complex featuring a 12,000 square-foot chef-driven restaurant and restaurant and bar led by Richard Tang.

“With Forsyth County being the fastest growing county in the state of Georgia we felt it was the perfect location for our project,” Nielsen said. “We saw the need and demand for youth sports in the area and felt it was the perfect time to deliver a project of this magnitude.”
