Inglewood, California-based Sweet Red Peach later this year will debut downtown. The custom cakes and pastries franchise is making its way to the east coast by way of Franchisee Jabari Mathieu.
Slated to open October 8, 2022, at 57 Forsyth SW, Sweet Red Peach will be the second Inglewood-founded food and beverage establishment Mathieu has brought to Atlanta in recent years — the Franchisee also owns and operates the local Mr. Fries Man.
“Sweet Red Peach is an emerging brand and I’m the first Franchisee,” Mathieu told What Now Atlanta. “I think it’s a perfect match for Atlanta in regards to the taste and down-south touch it represents since everything we make is homemade.”
Sweet Red Peach offers cakes, cookies, and cupcakes, with keto and vegan options. There’s also a rotating daily menu of specialty desserts like Sweet Red Peach’s cheesecakes which are typically available in one flavor per day like the Red Velvet or Sweet Potato.
“Sweet Red Peach will always offer the finest desserts that our previous and present customers have come to expect,” the company writes on its website. “Our motto [is], ‘If we wouldn’t eat it, why would we expect you to?”’
“‘Sweet’ stands for ‘Sweet Potato Pie,’ ‘Red,’ ‘Red Velvet,’ and ‘Peach,’ ‘Peach Cobbler,'” Founder Karolyn Plummer told ABC7 Los Angeles. Plummer opened her first bakery in 2000. The restauranteur was a teacher in Compton, CA for 17 years.
