Middle Eastern restaurant Delbar will expand its space in Inman Park.

A permit was filed in Atlanta for the renovation, which will add about 1,700 square feet.

Delbar owner Fares Kargar shared more about the project in a phone call Thursday.

“We’re taking over the space next door,” he said, referring to the Poke Bar at 870 Inman Village Parkway. “We’re expanding our kitchen, adding a private room and another sunroom.”

Kargar said construction could start in January. The buildout could cost almost $190,000, according to the permit.

It’s not the only project Kargar has in the works. He said construction started this week on Bibi, his new fast-causal concept at Ponce City Market. The hope is for it to open in December, Kargar said.

New locations of Delbar have also been announced for Buckhead and Alpharetta
