The Colorado-based Smashburger chain plans to expand its footing in the greater Atlanta region over the next five years.

Details about specific areas for expansion haven’t been revealed yet, but a Smashburger spokesperson told What Now Atlanta that the burger-chain restaurant plans to open 15 to 20 new locations and expand its presence as the Atlanta population continues to grow in the marketplace.

“The brand has yet to solidify an exact location for the first store within the market,” said the spokesperson.

Some changes might be made to Smashburger’s menu, which according to the brand “remains a driving force of profitability.”

“This allows us to attract new customers to our locations while also retaining our loyal fans by offering fresh and exciting dining experiences that cater to evolving tastes and preferences, keeping them eager to explore new items while still indulging in their favorite classics,” Smashburger said in a press release emailed to What Now Atlanta.

Smashburger opened its first location in Glendale Ave in Denver, Colorado, in 2007 and has expanded to 34 locations in the United States alone, and has locations in Canada.
