The neighborhood eatery is replacing Country Cafe.
Pea Ridge Kitchen & Bar, a neighborhood eatery, will soon open in Decatur.
The restaurant, at 2607 Lawrenceville Highway, is a collaboration between Brian Hogan of Shorty’s and Patrick Dunn, formerly of Leon’s Full Service.
“Pea Ridge won’t be a pretentious place,” Dunn told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Wednesday. “It’s a very causal, family driven spot. We all have kids. You’re not gonna feel weird when you come in the door.”
Dunn will oversee the menu comprised of soups, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and seasonal rotating entrées.
As for specifics, the food served will rely so heavily on what’s nearby and fresh that Dunn and his team don’t have a concrete menu in place.
“Everything will be made from scratch. The menu is so seasonal that what we’ll serve depends on what we can get from local farmers. When good crops start coming in, we’ll have a better handle on things.”
Pea Ridge should open May 13 in space formerly occupied by Country Cafe, a 2,200-square-foot space with 58 seats including bar stools.
