The new concept that Fifth Group Restaurants is bringing to Virginia-Highland is going to be a modern Mediterranean restaurant.

New details about the restaurant are included in a job posting for the restaurant’s executive chef, Atlanta Business Chronicle reported. According to the posting, the restaurant expected to open this fall will “showcase an array of bold and exciting flavors from Greece, Turkey, Israel, and Morocco.” The name of the new restaurant has not been made public yet.

The concept will be replacing The Original El Taco, which closed earlier this year. The Tex-Mex eatery had been open at the space on North Highland Avenue since 2008. Fifth Group Restaurants announced at the time that they would be introducing a new concept at the space following renovations and a kitchen refresh.

Atlanta-based Fifth Group Restaurants is also the team behind La Tavola, Lure, South City Kitchen, Ecco and Alma Cocina. The company opened its first restaurant in 1993 with the first South City Kitchen location in Midtown. South City Kitchen is now the most numerous of the concepts, with four locations across metro Atlanta.

The restaurant group also operates a catering and events company called Bold Catering & Design.

The owner of Fifth Group Restaurants could not immediately be reached for comment, but this story will be updated when What Now Atlanta learns more information about the new concept.
