Wawa is headed to several more cities in southeast Georgia.

According to construction plans, outposts of the convenience store and gas station will be built in Hinesville, Brunswick, Pooler and Jesup. The locations will be between 5,537 and 6,119 square feet.

Outdoor seating and a walk-in beer refrigerator are planned for at least Hinesville, located at Elma G Miles Parkway and Veterans Parkway, according to the plans. The Jesup store will be at 274 S. First Street, Brunswick will be at 4330 New Jesup Highway, and Pooler will be at the intersection of Pine Barren Road and Pooler Parkway.

What Now Atlanta reported last month that a Wawa will be constructed in Bainbridge. This along with the four additional locations align with Wawa’s plans to expand to “southern and coastal” areas of the Peach State. The company announced plans in 2022 to open its first Georgia store in 2024, with the potential of up to 20 stores in the market.

Wawa first began in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey before becoming a dairy production business and eventually a food market in the 20th century.

There are now more than 1,000 corporate-owned locations, mostly on the East Coast. The store is known not only for typical convenience store offerings, but also for heartier eats like subs and breakfast sandwiches, as well as specialty beverages.
