According to a recently signed lease agreement, North Italia — an Italian restaurant chain known for its handmade pasta and pizza — is expanding its Bay Area presence, planning to debut a new outpost in Walnut Creek before the end of the year.

Coming to Plaza Escuela at 1276 S California Boulevard, the eatery will land near establishments such as Habit Burger & Grill, Pizza My Heart, and Yogurtland Walnut Creek.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, it offers a brief introduction on its website: “Every day there is a new delicious favorite made from scratch, like our Chef’s daily pizzas… [and] a tempting assortment of wines, beer, and house-made cocktails give you endless ways to treat yourself. From the moment you walk through our doors, to your last scoops of budino at the end of a satisfying meal, you’ll know you’re in good hands.”

The chain currently operates over 40 locations nationwide and is owned by The Cheesecake Factory under the subsidiary Fox Restaurant Concepts.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Russell Owens, President and COO at Fox Restaurant Concepts, to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
