According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, Hungry Kitchens is opening a new concept, Hungry Tables.
Coming to 257 3rd Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as Chaat Corner, El Dorado Latin Fusion, and Wine Down SF.
The concept’s owner, Mo Abdelmeguid, tells What Now San Francisco, “Our primary company is called Hungry Kitchens. We consider ourselves to be more than a catering company; we try to create experiences.”
Abdelmeguid launched his first cafe under the Hungry umbrella in 2023, Hungry Cafe, at the Southeast Community Center after winning a bid with the city.
“What we wanted to do was bring fresh ingredients and serve Egyptian cuisine, but with a Californian twist to it… For example, some items that we provide are carrot hummus with coriander, beetroot truffle hummus, and a fava bean hummus.” Sandwiches, pastries, and Counter Culture Coffee are also on the menu.
Abdelmeguid also operates Hungry Crumbs, a bakery that launched last year and focuses on handcrafted pastries.
“This year we’re launching Hungry Tables… The experience is communal dining. We want to host dinner parties, where we introduce strangers to each other so that they can leave as friends.”
“We want to create community through the mediums of food and music,” he adds. “We’re just waiting on the health department, then we’ll launch a series of soft openings beginning next month.”
Stay tuned for updates.
