Paradise Bowls is a family-owned, health-focused eatery that originated in Manhattan Beach and is getting ready to open a new location in Marina del Rey at 4712 Admiralty Way.
Previously, What Now Los Angeles reported that the company is doubling down on Los Angeles locations, with new locations coming to Westlake Village at The Promenade at Westlake and a site in Marina del Rey, but little information was available for the latter. Now it’s become a little clearer when and where Paradise Bowls will land in Marina del Rey. The company will open its newest location in the former home of The UPS Store in the Waterside Marina del Rey shopping center, expected to open in Summer 2025, according to signage on the storefront. Paradise Bowls has locations in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Irvine.
Paradise Bowls offers a menu centered around acai and pitaya bowls and a variety of smoothies. Bowls like the “Sunrise” and “Sunset” come with blended fruit bases and are topped with granola, honey, and other fruits. Smoothies such as the “Base Tan” and “Kokomo” are served in 22-ounce sizes and include mixes of banana, mango, pineapple, and acai. Most items are vegan and dairy-free, with some gluten-free options. Customers can also customize their orders based on dietary needs. The menu is designed to offer quick, healthy meals for people on the go.
This is a massive accomplishment for the company, which was founded in January 2013 by Alex Graham and Justin Segal, two UCSB alumni with backgrounds in professional baseball. After their athletic careers, they launched the business to offer healthy, fruit-based bowls and smoothies to the Southern California community. The company is family-owned and operated, with Alex’s brother Andy Graham and his wife Larissa now overseeing operations in Los Angeles, while Elizabeth Arcuri and her father Jim manage the Irvine location. The Grahams’ parents, Pat and Joanne, also contribute by assisting in-store during weekends. By the end of the year, Paradise Bowls will have four locations in Los Angeles County.
