A new culinary experience is on the way for Upper Arlington diners, as Tikka Masala Indian Grill & Bar prepares to open its doors at 3108 Kingsdale Center.

The space was previously home to Bonsai Columbus, a Japanese and Korean eatery known for its sushi and Korean-style bowls. While Bonsai’s signage remains, new banners announcing the arrival of Tikka Masala are now in place, signaling a fresh chapter for the Kingsdale location.

Though an official opening date has yet to be revealed, signs point to an imminent launch. Bonsai’s website has gone offline, its phone line is disconnected, and the restaurant appears to have quietly shuttered.

Tikka Masala Indian Grill & Bar promises a menu of Indian cuisine “with a modern twist,” according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. While full menu details are still under wraps, fans of rich curries, fragrant spices, and bold flavors can likely expect a mix of traditional favorites and inventive new dishes. Owner Mo Rasel told What Now Columbus that interior renovations are underway to transition the space from a Japanese restaurant into one that better reflects the new concept.

This upcoming addition joins the growing roster of diverse dining options in Upper Arlington, bringing bold South Asian flavors to the neighborhood. Keep an eye out—Tikka Masala may be opening its doors sooner than you think.
