Travellers passing through the DFW Airport know how important the right fuel is. Fortunately for weary wanderers, Smoothie King, a national chain offering nutritious options on the go, has filed to open a new location in the travel hub.

The healthy concept will be moving into space A-2-053 at 2040 South International Parkway. Airport patrons won’t have to wait too long to grab a delicious blended treat to fuel their trips; paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show that work is set to begin on the new storefront on June 16. The project, described as an “interior remodel of existing Pinkberry involving serving equipment and finishes update” should be completed by September 12 of this year.

Smoothie King will be compact but powerful. The eatery will have 280 square feet to welcome and serve customers.

Smoothie King opened its first storefront in Louisiana in 1973. The chain has found great success, fueled by an ethos stated succinctly on its website: “Since our inception, we have believed that proper health helps us get the most out of each day, which has inspired us to craft our smoothies with non-GMO fruits and vegetables.” The company now has more than 1,400 locations worldwide.
