nine Restaurant Group is announced the upcoming opening of their new restaurant, nine, set to debut in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood late spring, 2025. The group is defining a new standard of hospitality consistent for guests enjoying an evening cocktail in the bar area and for diners experiencing renowned chef Andrew Simonich’s tasting menu in the dining room. The restaurant’s cuisine is an artful blend of modern and classical French fare, while the curated beverage and wine lists feature unique proprietors from around the world. Led by local restaurateur Allan Rodriguez, nine takes its name from its iconic 9 Park Street Place address.
“I am thrilled to introduce nine to Boston and preserve the rich history of this beloved location,” said Allan Rodriguez, owner of nine in a statement. “Our team comprises the industry’s top talent and each member has brought unique expertise to the table. Together, we are creating a restaurant that promises the highest caliber of hospitality, food and beverage, and I am confident that we will deliver an exceptional experience that exceeds expectations.”
nine’s approach to hospitality blends old-school fine dining values—like table-side service, product knowledge, —with a modern sense of accessibility and personality. The nine team does not view hospitality as just a service standard, but rather as a philosophy that they live by and incorporate into every aspect of the restaurant experience.
Under the culinary leadership of Chef de Cuisine Andrew Simonich, nine will offer French cuisine with influences from surrounding European countries. Guests can choose to experience Chef Andrew Simonich’s seasonally-driven tasting menu or create their own journey with offerings from an a la carte menu. In addition to luscious pasta, made fresh daily, the menu includes shareable dishes that guests can experience together. The ever-changing menus express New England’s distinct seasons through the bold flavors and ingredients showcased on each plate.
“While I am a classically trained chef, what is most important to me is honoring each and every ingredient,” said Andrew Simonich, Chef de Cuisine at nine. “When I create a tasting menu, I think of it as a story – each course is a chapter, each ingredient a sentence, all blending together to express the seasons and invite guests to embark on culinary journeys led by conversation-starting courses.”
nine’s beverage menu is a thoughtful extension of the culinary experience offering handcrafted concoctions and personalized pairings. A nod to Boston’s spirited history, nine proudly introduces Boston’s first gin palace, an evolution of the lavishly decorated public houses which emerged in the 1830s, becoming particularly popular in London and other major cities. Nine will offer a curated selection of gins from around the world.
The wine list leans heavily into France with unique global selections that further enhance the dining experience and complement the nuanced flavors of the cuisine. A talented team of affable sommeliers guide and educate guests on unique offerings, creating an opportunity to discover hidden gems and exclusive wines not easily found elsewhere.
Designed by Lorenzo Lorniali and Federica Di Biase of Adige Design, “nine” boasts elegant interiors that marry sophistication with comfort, cohesive with the ethos of the restaurant. The restaurant comprises a bar area and dining room that, while distinct in space, are in full harmony, creating a natural flow from one room to the next. The team has enlisted local artisans including Dylan Levesh-Raabe who is crafting proprietary hand-blown oyster platters and Vintage on 2 who is curating vintage treasures found throughout the restaurant. Artist Arminda Maritsa Ferreira is painting a mural of Boston that beautifully marries the city’s rich history with present day charm. The iconic building’s windows welcome in natural light and offer guests unparalleled views of Boston Common and the Massachusetts State House, creating a picturesque setting for any dining experience.
