Keller foodies, get ready to say “aloha” to your next fast-casual dining obsession. Mo’ Bettahs, a popular chain with its heart firmly in Hawaii, is bringing the tastes and atmosphere of the island to the DFW, reports Community Impact.

The barbecue restaurant will be opening at 1241 Keller Parkway as a part of the Shops at Keller Marketplace. The new retail mecca received Keller City Council approval on April 15, so delicious Hawaiian cuisine may still be a ways off. No formal opening timeline is presently available.

Founded by brothers Kalani and Kimo Mack in Utah in 2008, Mo’ Bettahs strives to reframe the way mainlanders view Hawaii through food and the dining experience. The website explains: “We were blessed to be born of native Hawaiian ancestry on the island of Oʻahu where a strong culture of aloha (love) is rooted in ʻohana (family), traditions, the ocean, and the ʻāina (land)…we wanted to bring that special experience to everyone who entered our restaurant and share Hawaiʻi as the island locals know it, which is very different from the stereotypical representation.”

Guests can look forward to enjoying plates piled high with teriyaki chicken, shrimp tempura, and kalua pig.
