World Class Bartending Summit Arrives in May

Atlanta is prepping to host a four-day bartending course by the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild this May. The course would entail a worth-watching competition of the country’s top 10 bartenders. Selected 10 members would then give their best for the ‘U.S. Bartender of the Year’ title.
Out of the 50 U.S. states that host the summit, Atlanta has been picked for this year. The competition will be held at The Westin Buckhead Atlanta. Dates for the competitive event are from May 18 to 21.
Colonnade and Omakase Table Curate New Cocktail Program and Wine Menu

In delightful news for Atlanta’s drink lovers, The Colonnade, one of the city’s oldest restaurants, introduced its debut wine list on April 25. Other than this, it shared on social media about its old dishes that were removed amid the pandemic and fires on Cheshire Bridge Road on its social media.
Along with the Colonnade wine list, the food establishment is ready to up its culinary presence by bringing back old favorites. Highlights include tomato aspic, crab-stuffed shrimp, beef stroganoff, peaches and cheese, and deviled eggs.
Another Atlanta-based food facility that is bringing rejuvenating drinks this summer is Omakase Table. The sushi restaurant, which recently moved to Buckhead, has curated a fresh cocktail program. The idea was developed by Atlanta’s Garn McCown, beverage director at the food place.
Omakase Table is confident that the new cocktail list would complement its 20-course ‘omakase tasting.’
Buckhead to Bring Finest Water Sommeliers through Atlanta Summit
Atlanta’s water sommeliers and enthusiasts can brace themselves for a riveting summit this summer. Set to be held in Buckhead, this event will be hosted by the Fine Water Society. Attendees will get to see a competition for the ‘best-tasting water’ in multiple categories.
There will also be a professional conference for both enthusiasts and sommeliers.

“Rice & Grits” to Impress at the Atlanta Film Festival
Hieu Gray, a Vietnamese American filmmaker, will shed light on Vietnamese and Southern food through her documentary. Named “Rice & Grits: A Vietnamese American Culinary Odyssey of the American South,” the documentary will include her personal exploration of the cuisine at the Atlanta Film Festival.
Atlanta’s food lovers can head to the Plaza Theatre for Gray’s show.
David’s Produce to Continue Offering Near Decatur
In an interesting turn for Atlanta’s culinary space, David’s Produce has gotten a new anonymous buyer near Decatur. In 2024, it was listed for $750K and had a store and a two-bedroom house.
