The team behind some of Houston’s most inventive dining experiences is at it again—this time, with a fresh concept that blends global influence and Indian heritage in a space designed to spark conversation. Kitchen Rumors, the latest restaurant from the Kahani Social Group, will open at 2310 Decatur Street in the former Xin Chao location, continuing the group’s expansion across the city.
Founded by brothers Surpreet and Preet Paul Singh and helmed by partner and Executive Chef Jassi Bindra, Kahani Social Group is already known for standout concepts like Amrina in The Woodlands and the quick-service brands Pok Pok Po and Bol. Their newest full-service venture, Kitchen Rumors, aims to do more than just serve great food—it wants to start a dialogue.
“At Kitchen Rumors, we believe Indian cuisine is no longer confined to its origins. It’s a vibrant, ever-evolving culinary force shaped by global influences,” said Bindra in a press release. The menu will spotlight inventive dishes such as Bison Short Rib Nihari, pan-seared Branzino with green herbs and veggie salan, and a sweet finish with Panna Cotta Shahi Tukda—each item offering a blend of tradition and innovation.
More than a restaurant, Kitchen Rumors is described as a “space for storytelling.” Inspired by how food, like rumors, travels, evolves, and connects people, each dish will carry its own backstory. That ethos threads through the design and menu, encouraging guests to linger, share, and explore.
Kitchen Rumors is expected to open in late Spring 2025.
