Subsequently, the photo went viral, kickstarting a frenzied reaction from fans of the drink.
Flavor Profile: The Secret To Its Popularity
Flavored beer is not a new invention. In fact, Anheuser-Busch alone has launched a range of them. However, the Busch Light Apple remains their most successful flavor, having hit store shelves. This is due to the lager’s unique, refreshing taste that has also been dubbed as zestful. The re-launch is set to bring back the signature Busch Light taste, albeit with an added bite of a crisp apple flavor.
Launch Plans For the Beer
The team at Anheuser-Busch has decided to take enhance their marketing efforts by enlisting Ronald Wayne to promote the beer. Wayne was one of the founders of Apple, with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, who had famously liquidated his 10% stake in the now-booming tech company for a measly $800 in the year 1976.
In the Instagram post shared by the Busch Light team, Wayne is heard joking, “Back then, I wasn’t confident enough to see the opportunity in front of me. This time, I know a good thing when I see it. When Busch Light Apple comes around, you don’t hesitate, you stock up. This is one opportunity I’m not letting slip away.”
Availability of the Beverage
Fans are buzzing on social media to talk about the return of this anticipated launch. Some have stated that they have received access to certain early-release cans of the beverage on store shelves as well as videos of the drink on assembly lines. These posts have sparked comments from fans eager to find where Busch Light Apple is available.
In a statement to Fast Company, Krystyn Stowe, the head of marketing at Busch Family & Natural Family of the Anheuser-Busch team, said, “Before Busch Light Apple was taken off shelves, our fans chased down trucks to get their hands on it. They created Facebook groups with thousands of members to mourn the loss of their favorite beer, and Reddit threads became a new home for those looking to connect with others who miss the signature sweet taste of Busch Light Apple.”
