According to Culture Map San Antonio, the California-based dining concept Luscious Dumplings is opening two new locations in San Antonio.
In addition to the outpost coming to 415 W 1604 S 113 that What Now San Antonio reported on last week, the concept will also be debuting a new restaurant at 12485 I-10, Suite 108 — near establishments such as Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Chili’s Grill & Bar, and Peter Piper Pizza.
A “San Antonio restaurant group took an interest in our food and concept, came to CA and Denver to visit our stores, and tasted our food. And really wanted to work with us,” Ker Zhu, the owner of Luscious Dumplings, tells What Now San Antonio. “In order to make this work, they had to bring staff into CA for a few months of training,” he adds.
“We’re adding a few new items to the San Antonio menu,” Zhu says, sharing that the upcoming location will offer a variety of “traditional plates.” “There will be more than just dumplings for people to choose from, and we will serve boba as well,” he adds.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, the Luscious Dumplings website states that the concept was founded in Los Angeles in 2001 by Alan Lam & Grace Li, Zhu’s in-laws. Zhu and his wife joined the company in 2001, and by the end of 2025, Luscious Dumplings plans to operate 10 locations across California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Luscious Dumplings in San Antonio is slated to open in May. Stay tuned for updates.
