A fresh concept is making its way to The Heights, aiming to redefine the idea of the modern-day family hangout. Long Weekend—the creation of husband-and-wife duo Paige and Andrew Alvis—is set to open at 2042 E. T.C. Jester Blvd. The expansive venue will combine wood-fired Western cuisine, a warm sense of community, and immersive outdoor amenities into a laid-back yet elevated experience inspired by Andrew’s family ranch weekends.
At its heart, Long Weekend is rooted in tradition. The Alvis family’s time spent around campfires, horseback rides, and storytelling sessions on their ranch helped shape the concept’s foundation. That legacy now translates into an 8,000-square-foot interior complete with a cozy café for early risers and a welcoming dining area for dinner service. Beyond the walls, over 20,000 square feet of outdoor space will feature a nature-inspired playground, sports-friendly TVs, a live music stage, and even a water feature—all designed with families in mind. The property will also include over 800 dedicated parking spots, solving a common pain point in busy neighborhoods.
“We wanted to create something that felt true to who we are—a place that brings people together, honors our Texas roots, and lets families just enjoy time together,” the Alvises shared in the announcement. With Andrew’s extensive experience in commercial real estate and restaurant development, and Paige’s background in accounting and community-focused initiatives, the couple has crafted a space that balances adult comfort and kid-friendly fun.
Menu-wise, Long Weekend will lean into bold flavors and hearty Texas staples, with an emphasis on wood-fired cooking. Diners can expect high-quality steaks, fresh seafood, and adventurous game meats like quail and elk, alongside health-conscious options such as seasonal soups and grilled vegetables. The café, opening early each day, will serve breakfast tacos, house-baked pastries, and locally roasted coffee—positioning the venue as a go-to from sunrise to sunset.
To bring their vision to life, the Alvises partnered with Harrison., a Texas-based global design and branding firm known for creating authentic hospitality environments. Their goal? To encapsulate the spirit of the great outdoors, homegrown hospitality, and relaxed luxury. As their tagline puts it, guests are encouraged to “Saddle Up & Settle In.”

Long Weekend will officially open its doors in Fall 2025.
