Known for their generous portions and fresh food, Pita Mediterranean Street Food’s recent inspection came as a surprise in contrast to the one done almost two months ago. Health inspectors cited multiple violations, noting the unsatisfactory score to be a result of the lack of active managerial control.

The report states that various violations were observed in the prep area among employees and management. Unapproved containers were found on the prep table, and employees working in said area were found without hair restraints and with unapproved jewelry. The sanitizer concentration used to clean said area was also found to be inappropriate.

Inspectors also observed stickers on multiple utensils. Meanwhile, various containers of food were found that had no labels or expiration dates on them. Other food safety violations pertaining to temperature control of foods were also observed.

Health inspectors also found 3 gallons of milk, containers of flan cake and tres leches cake, holding a temperature above 41°F, which is the third consecutive violation of the same code. It was also found that the sanitizer concentration of a bucket and spray bottle was too high, and was corrected on the spot.
