Metro Atlanta restaurant, SM Wing, failed a recent health inspection after several violations were discovered on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The Gwinnett, Newton & Rockdale County Health Departments led an inspection of the restaurant where sanitary health codes were violated and food-related issues were found. The lack of proper managerial control is reported to have been the reason for these violations.

During a health inspection on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the GNR County Health Departments found several violations at  SM Wing. The report starts off by pointing out a lack of managerial control, which is the root cause of these violations. Several sanitary violations were observed during this inspection, including unapproved cups in the prep area, accumulation of mold-like substance in the ice machine, wiping cloths stored in sanitizer buckets that had low sanitizer concentrations, and more.

Several food-related violations had also been observed during the inspection. TCS food was not stored properly and had to be discarded on the spot. Expired containers of heavy cream were also found and discarded, while other raw food materials were stored and handled improperly.

Additionally, clean dishes had stickers and sticker residue on them. Multiple clean dishes were stacked upon each other, which goes against the health guidelines. Items belonging to employees were stored improperly in both the cooler and dry storage area. A full health report can be found online.

A follow-up inspection will be conducted within 10 days. During this time, if the reported violations have not been corrected, then it can result in the suspension of the restaurant’s permit.
