Original ChopShop, a fast-casual restaurant chain founded in 2013 by Ryan and Caitlin Jocque in Scottsdale, is preparing to open a new location in Midtown Phoenix at the southeast corner of 7th Street and Thomas Road.
Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on a new location likely opening at 545 E Osborn Rd in Phoenix in late 2022. Since then, Original ChopShop has shifted its plans. “We are going to be at the corner of 7th and Thomas. The other site was a site that didn’t work out,” Jason Morgan, CEO of Original ChopShop, tells What Now Phoenix. The brand already operates ten Phoenix locations, including Arcadia, Chandler, Paradise Valley, and Scottsdale. Construction on the new site is expected to begin in June with an anticipated opening in September 2025.
When this new location opens, customers can expect a menu built around whole, nutritious ingredients. Core offerings include customizable protein bowls with options like teriyaki chicken over brown rice or sweet potato hash. Other highlights include fresh salads, sandwiches, superfruit bowls, and cold-pressed juices. Breakfast is served all day, and protein shakes are also available. The menu is designed to meet various dietary preferences, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Original ChopShop was founded in 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has since expanded across Arizona, Texas, and Georgia. The brand currently operates more than 25 locations, with more in development. Locations feature a casual, welcoming environment with indoor and outdoor seating. The company continues to target high-growth neighborhoods for future openings.
