Ava MediterrAegean, the Greek restaurant from Riviera Dining Group based in Winter Park, is preparing to bring its “Modern Greek Agora” to the South Florida market with a new location opening in Coconut Grove. Plan review paperwork submitted by Ava Coconut Grove LLC shows a new Ava MediterrAegean opening at 2889 McFarlane Road.

Ava is part of the family of restaurants created by the Miami-based Riviera Dining Group, the company which has brought out concepts like Claudie, Mila Miami, and Casa Neos. What Now reached out on Friday to CEO Gregory Galy to inquire about plans for a new Ava MeditterAegean closer to home, in Coconut Grove. Galy was not immediately available.

As it happens, this news came out in mid-May in coverage by The Burn Miami. Although no opening date is projected in the coverage, it does report that construction on the new location has begun.

“The menu at AVA leans into seafood, as one would expect with a name that includes two seas,” the coverage says. “They offer Yellowtail Crudo, Mediterranean Seabass Carpaccio, Athenian Whole Lobster Pasta, and a Greek Branzino Filet, among many other dishes.”
