According to SFist, the Filipino-Salvadoran pop-up concept Chisme plans to debut its first brick-and-mortar location.
Coming to 347 14th Street, taking over a spot formerly home to Kon-Tiki, Bar Chisme will land near establishments such as Biryani Tika Kabab, Coco Noir Wine Shop & Bar, and Kamdesh Afghan Cuisine.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Chef Manuel Bonilla and Co-owner Maxton Kennedy to inquire about their plans for the spot, but they could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the business shares on its Instagram page, “I’m sure some of y’all have heard that we are in the works on getting our own brick-and-mortar for Bar Chisme. Well….it’s very much true! Things are getting more real every day… The love and support for this little pop-up has been so great to see and all the words of encouragement mean a lot.”
“We want to be that chill dive you can come… and grab a late-night burger and a pupusa while you’re at it. We want nothing more than to have a space we can raise a glass with our community, friends, and colleagues,” the caption continues.
Additionally, the Journal reports that “there will be a small cocktail program to complement the food. And in addition to menu items popular at the pop-up at Low Bar, there will also be a smashburger.”
