According to a recently submitted permit application, the Los Angeles-based American fast-casual concept The Stand plans to debut its second Bay Area location.

“We’re just beginning to expand in northern California. People seem to be absolutely loving it,” shares the business’s co-owner, Jason Wishengrad.

Coming to 503 W Capitol Expressway in San Jose, the eatery will land near establishments such as Cha Cha Sushi, Egghead Sando Café, and Taco Bell.

Wishengrad, tells What Now San Francisco, “The Stand started 20 years ago in Los Angeles.” “Since then, we’ve grown the brand,” he shares — the concept now operates locations in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, and San Diego — adding, “This will be our 22nd location.”

He continues, “We’re a fast-casual, family-run business, and we try to offer high-quality food at a fair price point. We say that we serve American classics redefined; we offer everything familiar but with a twist.”

This means San Jose locals can expect the menu selection to include creative burger options — think a buffalo chicken burger, a French onion soup burger, and a Southwest chicken burger, to name just a few — sandwiches, salads, and protein bowls when the location debuts during the first week of August.

Stay tuned for updates.
