Eastside Golf Retail Lands at Detroit Airport
The brand posted on Instagram about the opening of its new store at Gate 34, Terminal A of Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). The store, spanning 300 square feet, will feature their best‑selling items, including tracksuits, Swingman sweatshirts, bucket hats, and performance polos that enhance athleisure style.
Eastside Golf Comes Full Circle
Founded in 2019 by Morehouse College teammates Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper, Eastside Golf set out to connect the sport with a younger, style-conscious audience. Since then, it has become a cultural force, redefining the game’s image through storytelling, major brand collaborations, and bold design.
Eastside Golf‘s founder and Creative Director, Olajuwon Ajanaku, said, “I came up with the idea for Eastside Golf while I was working in finance in Detroit. I remember showing Earl a sketch of our Swingman logo, and he suggested I put it on a t-shirt. I did, and I was stopped so many times while I was walking around Detroit by people asking where I got this shirt. At that point, I knew there was something there and Eastside Golf was born. With that history, it just feels right to open our first store here.”
Eastside Golf Expands Its Retail Footprint
The brand’s US store marks another success in Eastside Golf’s already impressive year of growth. Earlier this year, the brand partnered with national retailers like Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy to broaden its reach. It also teamed up with High Draw and launched an international storefront in Tokyo.
The launch of Eastside Golf products in PGA TOUR Shops in 2024 quickly established it as the top-selling brand. The success helped expand its presence to 10 PGA TOUR locations. It now celebrates its achievement in opening the first-ever US standalone store in Detroit.
