Inspection Findings
The on-site inspectors observed improper storage of utensils and equipment at No. 1 Express. Inspectors also noted missing labels on food items.
Officials of the County of Los Angeles Public Health cited the L.A. County restaurant for inadequate lighting. The inspectors observed unsanitized food contact surfaces and a lack of handwashing supplies at No. 1 Express. Food items were not kept separately, raising concerns about cross-contamination..
Inspectors reported evidence of a vermin infestation. Live and dead cockroaches were observed on the food prep table, near the mop sink, on utensils, and in more areas.
The inspectors further noted dirty nonfood-contact surfaces, employees without hair restraints, and the poor state of the ceilings at No. 1 Express.
Based on the observations of the County of Los Angeles Public Health, the Chinese food facility must ensure corrective actions. Doing so could help it get back in the food business in L.A. County.
