A well-known music producer is preparing to launch a new concept called Lava Rock in West Hollywood, located at 8907-8909 W. Sunset Boulevard.

The new restaurant concept will move into the former home of Warrior Event Space, according to a recent liquor license application. This is the latest from Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood Jr., a Grammy-nominated music producer, songwriter, and recording artist known for his collaborations with artists such as Chris Brown, Usher, and Post Malone, among others. It’s unclear when this new concept will open, but the application is for a Type 47 License, which is for an on-sale general eating place.

Youngblood Jr. has become a well-established figure in the music industry. He co-wrote “Fine China” and contributed to multiple multi-platinum projects, including Brown’s X and INDIGO. His solo album, Life of a RoccStar, reached No. 2 on iTunes. He appeared on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and Basketball Wives, and in 2023, he became President of Valiant Eagle Inc. He is the son of music executive Leon Youngblood Sr.

Now, the music producer appears to be getting ready to venture into the restaurant industry with this new concept. It’s unclear what Lava Rock will offer, but given Youngblood Jr.’s status, it should be one of the most anticipated openings of the year. This will be an excellent location for the new concept, considering the site offers high visibility and substantial foot traffic. Its proximity to popular nightlife and entertainment venues ensures a steady flow of potential customers throughout the week.
