Lake Worth Beach will soon be welcoming a new Dominican restaurant into its restaurant community. Called The Dominican Spot, it will be opening at 109 S Dixie Highway, “serving up bold vibrant cuisine that’s unlike anything you’ve tasted before.”
A menu posted on the restaurant’s website features empanadas with chicken, beef, or cheese; smalls plates, and bowls with a build-your-own approach: first, choose a base (rice, potatoes, veggies, or salad); second, a protein (stew chicken, pepper steak, or pernil); and, third, a topping (black/pinto beans, sweet or salty plantain, avocado, or Sautede yuca).
“In the Dominican Republic, food is never just food,” says the Dominican Spot website. “It’s a love letter from abuela, a rhythm in the kitchen that matches the beat of the tambora. Every plate tells a story—of family, joy, resilience, and flavor passed down through generations. Whether it’s the comfort of mangu at sunrise or the celebration of sancocho shared on a rainy afternoon, our food is always served with carino. To eat Dominican is to reel in the warmth of home, no matter where you are.”
What Now reached out to Dominican Spot co-owner Jobanna Sabala this week to ask about plans for the restaurant’s opening. Sabala was not immediately available for comment.
