The burger has captured hearts and stomachs since it first entered the popular consciousness in the late 1800s. The sandwich’s incredibly adaptive nature has allowed it to enjoy myriad evolutions, however no permutation has ever managed to eclipse the popularity of the classic cheeseburger. NADC Burger, a collaboration between chef Phillip Frankland Lee and professional skateboarder Neen Williams, has made a name for itself by serving the best cheeseburger, fries, and nothing else. Great news for Dallas diners intrigued by this prospect-the restaurant is opening a new location in the city later this summer.
NADC-which stands for “not a damn chance”-will be moving into the space at 2908 McKinney Avenue that previously housed Playground Bar. A press release provided to What Now Dallas states that the eatery is aiming for an early August opening.
The uptown Dallas location will be NADC’s eighth storefront, however it will be the chain’s first two-story home, “featuring counter service, a full bar serving specialty NADC cocktails, and a casual hangout area with indoor and outdoor seating.”
The limited nature of the menu is a large part of the restaurant’s appeal; it allows NADC to focus fully on crafting the best burgers. The release describes what lies in store for Dallas diners, saying: “The signature burger features a double patty made with 100% Wagyu beef, seasoned with a custom spice blend from Williams’ NADC Spice Company. Onions are grilled into the patties and then topped with American cheese, secret sauce, slightly tamed jalapeños and pickles. The fries are double-fried in premium beef tallow for maximum flavor and unmatched crispiness, with the option to go “Beast Mode”—loaded with cheese, pickles, jalapeños, special sauce, and extra seasoning.”
