A taproom and coffeehouse will soon be a new spot for a drink in the Overlook neighborhood.

Applicant Scott Eisenberg is hoping to open his new concept Hoplandia at 4320 N Interstate Avenue a month from now. This will feature local beers on tap, and it will also be a location brewing coffee and serving sandwiches like paninis. As he is a local to the Overlook neighborhood, he has dreamed of having a spot for coffee in the immediate area.

Eisenberg told What Now Portland he wants to create the space to “have something nice for the neighborhood.”

For beer, there will be 44 taps available. As the space was previously Blind Ox Taphouse, there are tap lines from this restaurant which can be utilized for the new beers. Eisenberg is also hoping to paint the space as part of renovations.

The applied hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. every day, and same for outdoor dining. Outdoor dining can seat 12, and inside there will be room for 25 seats. This is on the first floor of an apartment building.

Hoplandia is not to be confused with the bar under this title at 8600 N Ivanhoe Street which closed in 2023. Eisenberg wants his location to be a quick place to grab coffee and a pastry, and he is also tossing around the idea of the space having sports themes as it will also be a bar.
