The GNR Public Health Department conducted a routine health inspection on Wednesday. A Hardee’s location in Conyers received a low score after inspectors observed several food safety risk factors.

Hardee’s is a fast food chain with locations across the U.S. A health inspection took place at the Conyers location of Hardee’s. Inspectors documented multiple violations, resulting in a score of 62 U.

Inspectors noted that the person in charge lacked active managerial control, resulting in multiple critical violations. The person in charge shall have active managerial control at all times. Unwashed lettuce and tomatoes were stored above the RTE.

During the inspection, one pan of sausage was observed above frozen fries. The pan was relocated to comply with proper storage guidelines. The officer observed a mold-like substance build-up inside the ice machine. The food contact surface of clean baking pans was touching the bottoms of grease and carbon-crusted pans. The inspector reminded staff that food contact surfaces must be visibly clean.

One of the violations was corrected on-site as it was observed that foods placed under time control were not marked with a time. Food items were discarded. Foods under time control must be labeled according to the facility’s procedure.

The officer noted squeeze bottles and shakers that were not labeled with a food name. The person in charge labeled food containers. An employee was wearing a watch while preparing food. The employee removed the watch upon the officer’s instructions. Clean pans were stacked wet, and the mop sink was not draining. Plumbing needs to be in good condition.

Follow-Up Inspection

While some violations were corrected during the inspection, others remain and must be addressed. A follow-up inspection has been scheduled for July 25, 2025, as per the health inspection report for Hardee’s.
