“Thou Shalt Eat Proper Pizza,” the website of pizza brand Proper Pizza & Pasta enjoins visitors. At the moment, this would be a little tricky for people living in Sarasota, as the commute by car to the brand’s Hollywood, California location will run you about 37 hours. But be not afraid: the brand is currently at work on its first franchise location, which will open at 2283 Ringling Blvd, according to submitted plan review documents.

What Now confirmed news of the opening with franchisee Sean Zametz on Wednesday. Zametz says the opening timeline is still a bit uncertain for Proper Pizza.

“We’re shooting for end of this year,” Zametz said. “Although it could be the beginning of next year.”

Once it launches, Sarasotans will be able to check out Proper Pizza’s food offerings, which include a range of apps, salads, pastas, pizzas, and calzones, and more. There are pizza varieties like the classic Pepperoni Pizza, the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, The Chicken Parm Pizza, the Pesto Pizza, and more. On the pasta side are other always-popular choices like Beef Bolognese, Penne Vodka, and Cheese Ravioli.

Opening in the Ringling Boulevard location, Proper Pizza will join a restaurant community that includes brands like Five-O Donut, Shamrock Pub, and Fresh Mozzarella Pizzeria.
