Kōsen, Tampa Heights’ Michelin-starred omakase restaurant, is branching out with a new cocktail lounge opening just next door.
Opening at 306 Palm Ave, Tantō will feature a 25-cocktail lounge “with a focus on rare Japanese spirits, small-batch fermentations, housemade bitters and liqueurs and hand-cut ice,” says recent coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa.
“The response to Kōsen’s non-alcoholic fermentation program has been incredible,” Kōsen’s Director of Beverage & Sustainability Mike Western, who is heading up Tantō, says in a press release. “I knew I wanted to do more with it—to create a space where our Tampa community can stop by, grab a few small plates, and enjoy a proper cocktail without a 10-course commitment.”
Opening at the intersection of West Palm Avenue and North Ola Avenue, Tantō joins Kōsen in a food and beverage community that also includes Armature Works and a wide range of restaurant concepts like Hemingway’s Cuban Kitchen, Steelbach, The Fold, Empamamas and lots more.
What Now reached out to Mike Western on Friday to ask about plans for the Tantō launch. Western was not immediately available for comment.
