Liu’s Creamery is Closing Doors After Eight Months in Business
After bringing an inventive ice cream shop to Koreatown and winning the hearts of locals, Liu’s Creamery is closing. It is an extension of Liu’s Cafe and is located next door. Known for its shaved ice and bubble tea, the shop quickly became a summertime favorite in Koreatown.
The creamery will serve its last scoops on August 3, 2025, marking the end of its short-lived run. The team announced the closure via social media on July 25. The final service will be on August 3, 2025, after which the store will close its doors.
“Liu’s creamery will be closing after our final service on Sunday, August 3rd,” reads the post. “So only two weekends left to visit! 6-10 pm fri / sat / sun.”
Closure of Creamery Will Not Affect Cafe and Bakery
With news of Liu’s Creamery closing its doors, locals are worried that this is the end of their favorite Hong Kong and Taiwanese bakery. Liu’s Cafe and Bakery, which share ownership with the creamery, will continue operating as usual. There will be no changes to the two, and they will operate as always despite the ice cream store’s closure.
Something New to Open Soon
The closure comes as a disappointment to fans seeking relief from the summer heat. Liu’s Creamery quickly became a go-to spot for cool treats, making the sudden farewell bittersweet for fans. It remains to be seen whether the next concept will continue the cold dessert theme.
A new concept is soon to arrive in place of Liu’s Creamery. The upcoming concept is still under wraps, but the team hints it may offer something even more exciting. Hopefully, there will be more ice treats to catch because that’s what’s going to bring down the summer heat.
“Something else exciting will be taking the place of the creamery, so stay tuned!” says the post.
Over its short run, Liu’s Creamery built a loyal following with its creative frozen offerings. Locals have until August 3 to enjoy their favorite scoops before the concept makes way for something new.
